Is your appearance not as young as you feel? With Voluma Fillers, we can change that! If you desire a more youthful, firmer appearance, then Voluma Fillers could be the right solution for you! Voluma Fillers help reduce the look of aging by filling in unwanted wrinkles and lines and restoring the youthful you that you know.

How long do Voluma fillers last?

The effects of Juvederm Voluma generally last for about nine months to a year from the date of treatment with some patients even enjoying the effects for up to 2 years with optimum correction.

Juvederm Voluma is the newest addition to the Juvederm Hyaluronic Acid (HA) family of products. Voluma is an injectable dermal filler that helps to add volume and restore a youthful appearance to facial tissue, and can be used to correct many common signs of aging including:

  • Restoring volume to cheeks
  • Smoothing moderate lines around the eyes
  • Smoothing wrinkles around the nose and mouth

Voluma uses a combination of both high and low molecular weight HA. This contributes to the product’s lift capacity and duration.

Where should Voluma be injected?

Voluma should be injected in the midface to provide lift, smooth and contour your cheeks, giving you a more natural look. Voluma replaces those lost fat pads. It adds volume by creating a scaffolding for your skin. When Voluma is injected onto your cheekbones, it has a profound effect on your smile lines (nasolabial folds). After Voluma, very little filler is needed to reduce your smile lines.

Patients generally report minimal to mild discomfort during treatment. To enhance patient comfort, Juvederm Voluma XC is also formulated with lidocaine. Ice may also be used on some patients during treatment.

For a mild bilateral cheek correction, one syringe may be enough. Additional syringes may be required if deep hollows or marked flattening of the cheeks are present. I recommend patients new to JUVÉDERM VOLUMA® XC start with a minimal treatment of one syringe.

How much does Voluma injections cost?

Because it is injected deeper into the skin, where there are fewer nerves, Voluma also can be less painful than other fillers, However, the proverbial fountain of youth does not run cheap. Doctors generally charge up to $1,000 per syringe of Voluma, and can use from two to as many as six syringes per person. Voluma may be more cost-effective than Restylane or Juvéderm — which generally cost $600 to $700 a syringe, since it can last twice as long.

Injecting Voluma requires special training and an astute understanding of such aesthetics as facial harmony, symmetry and bone structure. So, patients should see a doctor who has experience with Voluma. Six months after Voluma injections, patients evaluated their appearance as looking 5 years younger than they really were. At 24 months, they thought they looked 3 years younger. It’s that good!

Any special instructions after Voluma injections? Patients should not exercise and should avoid heat and sun exposure for at least 24 hours after Voluma injections to minimize the risk of swelling and bruising. Patients are given the option to use ice packs for a few minutes after their injections. Generally speaking, Juvederm and Restylane patients will see the final results settle in after two weeks. It stimulates your body’s natural collagen production for long-lasting results.
